Able Writers inspired at special workshop

St George’s Junior School hosted a very special Able Writers’ Workshop last term and invited pupils from four local schools to join in: St Charles Borromeo, Cardinal Newman, St James’ and Saxon Primary School.

The sessions were led by award-winning and Sunday Times' bestselling author, Megan Rix.

Accompanying Megan for the day was Freya, a Therapy dog, who helped show the children how animals and people could convey emotions without the need for speech. Megan explained to the children how she loves writing books about ordinary animals doing extraordinary things!

The children were then given the opportunity to work collaboratively and positively on writing tasks and creating their own stories.
