Headmistress' Lectures at St George's College returns in September

St George's College would like to invite students, parents and staff to the next instalment of Headmistress' Lectures on Wednesday 27 September 2017 at 7pm.

This month's speaker will be Jo Berry, Founder of Building Bridges for Peace, a non-profit organisation that promotes peace and conflict resolution throughout the world.

Jo Berry is the daughter of Sir Anthony Berry, a minister in Margaret Thatcher’s government, who was killed by the IRA in the Brighton hotel bombing of October 1984. Following the release in 1999 of Patrick Magee, the bomber responsible for this atrocity, Jo went on to meet him – now the two have worked together on over 100 occasions, in a shared attempt to foster reconciliation and understanding in divided communities across the globe. Their unique work has recently been featured in the award winning film, ‘Beyond Right and Wrong’. Jo’s story is a fascinating one of forgiveness, reconciliation and hope.

This event is free to enter, and if you would like to attend please complete and return this REPLY SLIP to headmistress@stgeoresweybridge.com by Wednesday 20 September to confirm attendance. There will also be refreshments available.

We look forward to welcoming you to the College.
