International Literacy Day celebrated at the Junior School Library

On Friday 8 September, Year 5 celebrated International Literacy Day in the Library at St George's Junior School.

The pupils got the chance to write on parchment paper using feathered quills and ink, much to their enjoyment. They were given famous quotes by various authors and then they copied them onto their parchment paper, trying to be as delicate and as neat as possible.

Year 5 had lots of fun using their quills and celebrating International Literacy Day, although some of them did have a bit of trouble smudging the ink on their parchments!
