Penny collectors assemble for annual Penny Chain for charity

Penny collectors at St George's College assembled in the Tennis Centre on Friday 8 December for the annual Penny Chain, where students lined the tennis courts with as many pennies as they could collect for charity.

After almost a full term of penny collecting, the First and Second Year students gathered in the Tennis Centre to represent their houses and see who could lay the longest continuous chains of pennies in fifteen minutes. There was a big rush as pennies were scattered all over the floor, with the students enthusiastically competing to lay the longest line.

Once the 15 minutes was up, the judge checked all of the lines thoroughly and revealed that Petre were the dominant victors once more, after collecting more pennies and helpers to lay them out than all of the other Houses put together! Well done to Petre House!
