Pupils at St George’s College Junior School have been presenting Alice the Musical an adaptation by Mark and Helen Johnson and Richard Davies of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland written by Lewis Carroll.
A cast of 66 Year 4 pupils admirably entertained both children and parents. Singers, dancers and actors worked together as a team to produce a stunning show. Isabelle Smart and Niamh Carter played Alice brilliantly in the traditional style, ably supported by Taylor Papworth as the White Rabbit. Strong cameo performances were also given by Harry Wells and Tom Grenfell as the Mock Turtle and Gryphone and the comic pairing of Lyle Reynolds as The Mad Hatter and James Abernethy as the March Hare. There was an outstanding choir directed by Mr Alastair Hodgson the Director of Music at the School and Mrs Oglander Head of Year 3 choreographed the dance troupe who showed great energy and superb team work.
“This was an ambitious venture for this age group and they rose superbly to the Challenge” said Mrs Hester Head of Drama and Mrs Holmes Head of Year 4 who produced the show
