Author Andrew Norriss visited St George’s College Junior School on Tuesday, May 25th, to meet with the pupils. He commented on his day saying, ‘St George’s is the type of school that makes you wish you still had young children to educate!’
Mr Norriss, author of Touchstone, Ctrl-Z, The Unluckiest Boy in the World, The Portal and Aquila, talked about his new book Aquila 2, a sequel to Aquila, which is due to be published in July. He entertained the children with extracts from his many books and he asked the children questions about the characters in the stories. Prizes of his books and bookmarks were given to the lucky winners in Years 3 to 6. Book signing was a great success at the end of the day with the pupils queuing outside the Library door!
Andrew is also famous for his television series Brittas Empire, Woof and Bernards Watch.
‘It was really exciting to meet Andrew Norriss and I really liked his magic trick.’ Said Lauren Morgan age 7.
Mrs Angela Disher Librarian said ‘The Upper School is buzzing with excitement and Andrews books are always out on loan. The children can’t wait for their Summer Holiday reading Aquila 2. It was a very successful day and one which will help inspire the children not only with their reading but also with story writing’.
