Just days after welcoming the BBC to St George’s to film the chamber choir preparations for the semi-finals of the BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year Competition, 2012, it gives us great pleasure to announce that the choir has also won a place in the final of the Barnardo’s National Choir Competition 2012.  Director of Music, Tansy Castledine remarks; “To have achieved so highly in both competitions is a phenomenal accomplishment and I’m really proud of the choir.”  Just six senior choirs from across the UK have been chosen to take part in the prestigious final at the Barbican Concert Hall in London on Tuesday 6th March 2012.  The Chamber Choir entry consisted of arrangements of two spirituals, All my trials and Ev’ry time I feel the spirit by Bob Chilcott, and their accompanist is Andrew Barton.
