Congratulations to Bethan Hayward and Karin Kajabova who today won the Under 13 girls National Independent Schools Championships at Eton, defeating the holders of the last three years Queenswood in the final 6-2. The girls played some exceptional doubles against a very strong pair.
 
The College had several pairs involved – below are their excellent results:
 
Fred Britton and Oliver Rands – beaten by Millfield in the semi-finals of the U15 Thomas Bowl (the boys played outstandingly well and only lost to a very strong pair).
 
U15 girls – Sophie Messem and Stephanie Cockram lost to Millfield 2, despite winning the first set 6-1, in the quarter-finals
                 Lauren Smith and Molly Tyrell lost to Millfield 1 in the quarter-finals
 
Both pairs then competed in the Shield for losing quarter-finalists and made the final against each other, which Sophie and Stephanie won.
 
U13 boys – Piers Foley and Kit Jones lost an excellent match against Hampton 7-5 in the quarter-finals
 
U13 girls – Sarah Weeden and Ashleigh Mason lost in the quarter-finals against our first pair – Bethan Hayward and Karin Kajabova – Sarah and Ashleigh went on to win the plate competition.
