St George's College students are celebrating this morning with their best ever results in their GCSE exams

St George's College students are celebrating this morning with their best ever results in their GCSE exams. The College has maintained its 100% 5 A*-C with a record 31% A* grades. 34 students gained all A* - A grades, with Giles Neoh (Weybridge) achieving ten straight A*'s. Six students took 11 GCSE's instead of the usual 10 and of these students Taline Kazandjian (Cobham), Ignacio Ferran (Weybridge) and Rachel Burge (Windlesham) gained 9A* and 2A grades. The A* - B percentage is the same commendable 91% as last year. These results are all the more outstanding as 17 students took the full AS in French, in addition to all their GCSE's.

All the Fourth Year students took Religious Studies GCSE a year early, with 83% gaining A*-A grades. A quarter of the Fourth Year cohort also took French a year early with an excellent achievement of 100% attaining A"-A grades. Two Fourth Year students twins Daria and Denis Aven (Virginia Water) took Russian and German GCSE's in addition to Religious Studies and gained A*  grades in all three subjects. Lucas Poelman (Weybridge) also in the Fourth Year took 3 GCSE's in Religious Studies, Spanish and Maths for which he gained B grades - this is a remarkable achievement a year early as Lucas has continued to play professional tennis throughout his studies. Special commendation also goes to Fourth Year student Clara Seipt who has gained grade A at AS Level in German.

Three of the Third Year students achieved A*'s in the following GCSE's: Daniel McNally (Woking) - French, Pierre Carnet (Woking) - French and German, and Vassily Melnikov (Woking) - Russian.  One Third Year student Saskia Ruys (Woking) achieved an A grade in Dutch.

An ecstatic Head Master Joe Peake was delighted at the record busting performance of his GCSE students "we expected this to be a good year but with 31% A*'s so many of our students have a wonderful basis for their A Level studies in the Sixth Form".
