Pupils at St George's College Junior School, have been supporting the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child campaign this week by donating boxes of children's gifts.
The pupils have collected more than 430 gift wrapped shoeboxes which they have filled with gifts including toys, pens, pencils, hats and scarves along with personal Christmas cards which will be given to children in third world countries.
Operation Christmas Child is a project that helps meet critical needs of victims of war, poverty, famine, disease and natural disasters. It is one of St George's College Junior School's annual charitable activities which encourages the pupils to help others less fortunate than themselves.
Junior School Chaplain Emma Buckley said "The shoe box appeal is great as it involves our children bringing joy to other children in the world".
