On Wednesday 13th January PC Jeremy Milford and YPCSO Adam Duncton visited St George’s College Junior School to talk to pupils in Year 2 as part of their Citizen Curriculum for PHSE.
During the talk PC Jeremy Milford and YPCSO Adam Duncton explained to the children about their job as policemen and how they are there to keep people safe with in the community. They explained the differences between types of police uniform, they showed some of the equipment that police use including their radio, handcuffs and truncheon and they talked the children thorough the correct procedures for calling 999 and gave examples of when people might have to call the emergency services.
Mrs Irene Lindsay, Head of Year 2 said “The children were informed and entertained by the police visit. I know that this will help them to better understand the local community that they live in as well as form an important part of their Citizenship studies”.
