Year 3 pupils decorated Aunt Sponge Cakes using icing, chocolate drops and other splendiferous ingredients
Do you recognise the Roald Dahl character that appears on these sponge cakes? It is of course Aunt Sponge from 'James and the Giant Peach'.
The Year 3 pupils from St George's College Junior School, who study the famous children's author, celebrated Roald Dahl's birthday on Friday by decorating an Aunt Sponge Cake using icing, chocolate drops and other splendiferous ingredients.
"The children have thoroughly enjoyed Roald Dahl Day. They have not only learnt more about this author and his characters, but also explored their artistic talents and had fun learning," Miriam Oglander, Head of Year 3, explained.
The librarian, Angela Disher, along with the school chefs worked very hard to make the day the success that it was. Happy birthday Roald Dahl!
