The cast of Romeo and Juliet worked brilliantly in adapting the script to fit the demands of a modern day interpretation. The rivalry between the two families stemmed from their living close to each other and their difference in class; the Montagues had struggled to make it through the credit crunch while the Capulets were incredibly wealthy. Mark Schofield said, “The principals showed excellent dedication and focus and gave some very mature performances. The chorus were a fantastic ensemble and provided the atmosphere of aggression and danger supported by Christopher Hopkins’s lights and David Robinson cueing the sound.” Overall, this was an excellent opportunity to show how much talent there is in 1st and 2nd year Drama and we look forward to what they will produce next year.
