Living Eggs Project
During the week the whole school became mesmerised by ten little eggs which were held in an incubator to hatch. On each day we waited the new arrivals to the chick family and eventually ended up with 8 little fluffy chicks (4 boys And 4 girls). Unfortunately two of the chicks did Not hatch, so they died. The Lab became a hotspot where many students came to see the chicks develop during the week and learnt about hatching, pipping and life cycles. After the chicks hatched they were transferred to the incubator to feed, water and grow.
The Animal Man
The Animal man came in to do four shows with his wide range of different animals including a skunk, python, tarantula, armadillo and owl among others. Children from all years go to touch and experience the animals first hand as well as learning lots about food webs, habitats, endangered species and the wider world.
The Quantum Theatre
The Quantum Theatre came in to perform 2 shows, Octopushy which recapped everything on Forces for Years 5 and 6 as well as adding some extra points and The Starry Messenger for Years 3 and 4 which introduced the Earth, Sun and Moon and the wider Solar System to them. All of the students enjoyed these energetic, educational and humerous shows!
