Some students have planned exciting gap years before they continue to their chosen universities. This year, former Head boy Jeremy McCabe (Byfleet) who joined St George's for his Sixth Form studies, has planned an exciting gap year in South Africa assisting with medical care for children. Jeremy is also an accomplished actor and has recently appeared in a play in Woking. After all his gap year activities Jeremy will study medicine at Southampton. Like Jeremy, all of the outgoing Heads of School gained straight A grades despite the demands of their roles. Chris Jones (Pyrford) will studying Avionics at Leeds, Evie Barden (Guildford) is off to New College, Oxford to continue her passion for English and Olivia Marke (Esher) will study Spanish at Bristol.
The College also announced its AS Level results which were excellent and bode well for next year's A Level results. Out of thirteen Lower Sixth students who took Maths A Level a year early, 11 gained a grade A. Notably Amica Nowlan (Addlestone) gained a merit in her Advanced Extension Award in French in addition to achieving grade As at A Level French and Maths and high grades in her other 3 AS Levels.
Headmaster, Joe Peake, was delighted by the results, "The results of the boys and girls at St George's have clearly shown that they work on a level playing field and all achieve their potential in a co-educational environment." Margi Lamey, Head of Sixth Form at St George's College, said: "Our results show that both girls and boys excel at St George's. Many students were successful in gaining their first choice of university. We wish them all every success with their future plans."
