All of the children in Year 1 to 6 took part in World Maths Day on the 3rd March 2010 along with over a million others across the world, from over 200 different countries. During the challenge the children played mental arithmetic speed games against one another, with one point awarded for each correct answer. In total the 410 children who took part from St George’s College Junior School answered 227,929 questions correctly and this contributed to a new World Record of 479 million answers globally in the 48 hour challenge.
Below are the World Maths Day results.
This list shows the top ten places according to the number of points scored in the challenge. All of these children were awarded a special certificate to mark the achievement.
