In the Fourth and Fifth Years, students take 10 GCSEs. All students study a core of six subjects: English, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (worth two GCSEs), Religious Studies. They also choose four option subjects from a wide range, one of which is expected to be a modern foreign language. All students take their Religious Studies GCSE a year early, and approximately a quarter of the year group take French GCSE a year early as well. PSE and Games are compulsory elements of the curriculum throughout these year groups.
Field trips and visits abroad to the Battlefields for History students, Iceland for Geography students, France, Spain and Germany to enhance the oral skills for Modern Languages - are all an important part of our enrichment programme. In addition, excursions to the theatre, museums, galleries and to lectures are scheduled throughout the year
